christmas Recap

The holiday was new and fun. Unfortunately, I was sick on Christmas Eve and Aaron and I did nothing but lay on the couch, very different then any other frantic and busy christmas eve. I was also a little disappointed because I wasn't pregnant, but none the less, Christmas day was much brighter. Aaron and I woke up together and exchanged stockings. I got a fabulous new camera, surprisingly enough, with all the gadgets I DO have I did not have my own digital camera (unless you count the 2 megapixel camera on my phone...I don't). After presents, we quickly got ready to go to his mom's house. It was very nice and his family showered me with gifts. Then after a huge meal at Aaron's family we were off to San Diego to my mom's for round two. There was had salmon, turnips and a poached pear salad. It was quite fancy. After dinner we exchanged presents, with saving the best for last...Aaron plays "Tacky Santa" for my family and brings a plethora of kitschy surprises for my mom, sisters, aunts uncles and cousins. Of some of the best gifts were du rags for my sisters, giant ears for nick, foldable reading glasses for my mom, and a high school musical ice pack for Rachel. We missed Megan this Christmas as she was traveling the world again, this time, London, Spain and Scotland. After the Christmas festivities were over Aaron and I stayed a couple of days in San Diego and took a walk of the beach at sunset. All in all, out first christmas to together was a lot of fun! Unfortunately, we with my new present there are no pictures of us together...I must get better at that!

This will me Aaron's and my first Christmas together...let the whirl wind tour begin. We will be together christmas morning (yay!); then off to his mom's at ten and then to San Diego to my mom's. Pray for no traffic! Merry Christmas all!

my New Tradition

On the dawn of new traditions, I have started collecting Department 56 "Dickens' Village" Lighted Buildings and such (not to be confused with Dickens' Christmas Carol Village). Thanks to Becky, I know have four buildings. See, she gave me four because she collects Department 56 "The Original Snow Village", not to be confused with "The Original Snow Village Halloween" Lighted Buildings and such and people gave her the wrong ones so I got those..yay for me. Yes, collecting villages that that light up is very complicated and this why I have not started until now...Cora's Christmas Collectables

This Dress

So, I am not much of a person to go shopping in a store. I mean why bother when you can shop online right? Plus if I do shop in stores I really want to buy everything and I get a little obsessive so I just don't put myself in such a compromising situation. Today I did, but I withheld. I found this dress. It was perfect. For what, I do not know. For if you know me, I am not one to dress up. In fact, I pretty much just find a way to "dress-up" yoga clothes everyday so I can get away with wearing them to work. But this dress I loved. I didn't buy it, because well, it was more then my wedding dress. I would really like somewhere to go so I had a reason to get it and more so wear it...any ideas? BTW, did anyone notice how long my hair is?

Decorating for the Holidays!

Thanksgiving Turkey Trot

This morning Aaron and I started a new tradition as a married couple...the Long Beach Turkey Trot. I ran the 10K and Aaron and Charla walked the 5K! Heather, Maria, Chris & Sheila (on her crutches...cheering...hurt her knee, sad) where all there running the 10K as well. Pictured is me and Maria crossing the finish line! Yay, more dessert for us. Yum! The day was soo beautiful, and actually looked like fall, a rare occasion lately in WARM So Cal! It had rained the night before and the air was clear and the cloud were amazing....Charla captured some of the beauty of the morning....check it out!

1. I wish I was left handed. I would practice often as a kid doing everything with my left hand. This taught me I could not will anything on to myself as I am still right handed.

2. I do not like reading.

Working Weekend

I did a lot of work this weekend. I realized, that unlike other trades, graphic work you can't always post because most of the time there is some sort of trade secrets involved. I know, I am not really as important as I just made myself sound. Anyways, I think this one is safe to post. This is a logo that I am working on for Ashton Woods, the most unique, best bed and breakfast that one could go. It is located on Bainbridge Island, WA, if you can't go, it would make a great present for someone looking to get away!

Copying Others

Many blogs that I read offer there favorites week or. Whether is it decor8's "Etsy's Take 5 Tuesday", or Just a Girl in the City "Faves of the Day", and I think I would like to copy them. I need a clever title though...how about "these are a few of my favorite things"...ye, I am a fan of The Sound of Music. And yes, I will try to do this once a week. It's good for everyone that way. Umm, now I have to think of some huh!

Christmas Presents

I have been working all day on little custom designed 2009 calendars for christmas presents. I have given myself a personal challenge...to use only artwork that was once in something else I created or I can use text if I have nothing that matches the month. Yes, I am being cutsy and matching the month to the holiday or season. Here is a sneak peak of July...of course this is my favorite so far...and yes I am sure it is because of the bike.

Happy Birthday Becky

Saturday night was a fun night for many reasons..first it was Becky's birthday party! Aaron and I threw a small dinner party for 12. We converted the house (turned the living room, into a dinning room), used our patio table to fit everyone with some interesting seating options (like ottoman's for three), and got to use all of new wedding stuff, including the Kitchen Aid (compliments of Becky & Greg) that everyone always says you won't use, and my fun yellow plates. The menu consisted of Jalapeno Artichoke Dip (erin), Pot Roast (aaron), Twice Baked Potatoes (aaron), Roasted Asparagus (cora), Carrots (roast), Cream Puffs (aaron), salad (charla), and some random cranberry, apple, ice cream, ginger snap dessert (cora). A text we received today in thanks summed up the evening..super fun-awesome food-great company! Happy Birthday rebecca Ford...i still think that sounds like a famous person.

Something Nice for Aaron

Since I have posted my updated 101's, some of my friends have insisted that I have done something nice for Aaron. See, my problem is, since we are newlyweds everything I do that is nice I think should just be normal, but then I was going through the pictures on my phone and found this. One morning I made my husband some fancy french toast. So number #29 was done on October 11th. Good Job Cora!

Not a Pet Person

Aaron and I went to a Dog Costume parade today. It was really crowded and the humans with their pets were way more frightening the dogs in costume. I think that this is my I am not really a pet person. Yet, these two dogs might have converted Aaron.
