Love

Oh how I love this little girl. It's funny that in planning this photoshoot (with Aunt Char Char) I didn't want to be in any pictures. Mostly because I was lazy and didn't want to have to take a shower. The funny thing is, I love some of these pictures the best. I loving having this being that loves me unconditionally. I love it when she reaches for me and wants me to hold her. I am sure there will be times in my life that this will get old (only wanting mama), but for now I will take it. Now that she is becoming more indepented by crawling, learning how to stand on things and becoming more interested in everything she sees (we didn't thnk that "more" could happen since she was extremely interested in everything from birth), it is cute when she crawls back to me to just check in. She will nuzzle her head on my leg or my tummy and then off she goes again. She is our little inquisitive girl and you can see it in her eyes. The thing that people say the most about her is how aware she is of the world around her. She really takes in all in. If you are a new person she will check you out for about 15 mintues with out blinking just to really know every detail about you! I can't wait for all the fun new things she is doing, well maybe not the first tantrum I saw today when I wouldn't let her eat a plastic bag. Although, I did love when she was itty bitty, I love every new thing she is doing...It is so much fun.

6+ Months

Little Lu = So Much Fun! She has so much personality it is hard to believe she is only 6 months old. In just a week she has done so much. Her learning curve for things is very short. She has the determination of I don't know what (well me, can I say that, or is that bragging?). She is no longer army crawling (it was actually more like a wounded soldier crawl), she is real crawling! She also is sitting without needed any fall cushions. She can go from crawling to sitting to kneeling with no problem. She is working on the standing but so far tries mostly with her hands still on the ground and looks more like she is doing down. It will only be days and she will be pulling herself up to standing, I just know it. Our house is very baby proof, in fact our den in pretty much a plastic corral. Lu knows we don't like her on the hard tile and I know she knows this because today got on it and crawled away from me as fast as she could laughing!! How does she know this is funny?

Foods she has had so far is cereal, avocado, nectarines, pears, prunes, apples, sweet potato, butternut squash, acorn squash, mango and chicken...she loves it all. Today we gave her a bagel to chomp on for her teeth, well her non-existent, she still has non. Back to the bagel, as you can probably tell by the pictures, she wasn't a fan.

Lu is getting more social daily. She has the "Who are you and what are you doing in my space" look (if you now Aaron you know what this face looks like), or she may give you smiles, or a one eye-brown lift with a smirk. Just the other day she started full arm waving; and now she plays a game of tilting her head side to side in hope that you will copy her in viewing your sideways world. It is very cute.

Until, next month, at my blogging rate these days...geesh! Gonna work on that one!

Back @ It...Kinda

Since Luella has been born I haven't much time or inspiration to do graphics. But my friend Jeanette is due to have a baby girl any day now, which gave me a boost to be be creative again. Here is the monogram art I created for sweet Eilee's room. Check out her super cute bedding. I love the name Eilee, it is after Jeanette's grandmother Eileen! I am so excited that Eilee and Luella will be so close in age. It will be fun to sit and watch them play together.

Lu Look Alike

Having a child is a funny thing, because everyone (well me especially) wants to figure out who they look like. I thought Luella looks like me until I saw these pictures. Everyone has a different take. People who know Aaron well say she looks just like him, but everyone I grew up with say she looks like me. A friend of mine described it as though Aaron had crawled into my skin. It is like she is truly 50/50. We are thinking of getting some DNA art to look at all three of our Karyotypes (that of course was Aaron's idea). Aaron was once named by a 5- year old "A Big Boring Biology Book." At times, she wasn't too off! Beside being a BBBB, Aaron is the BEST husband and dad ever. I truly feel like I have the most perfect life. I often watch other relationships around me fall apart and wonder if that has to happen us. But I really think it doesn't. We truly have the greatest respect for each other and are best friends, and the fact that Aaron gives me everything I want helps too!!

The Fear of “Mom-Butt”

"Disclaimer...everytime I go to write on this blog, I feel like a faker. I candy coat everything in such a cheesy fashion that I find myself not writing much of anything anymore (well unless it is about Lu!). Everything I want to write, I feel like it will be offensive, or gross, or not appropriate for my profession. But I want to write and I want to write what I think. So here I go..."

I am sure like many others, there are so many things that have changed since having a baby. I am not talking about love and fear of being a mother, or not being able to go on 3 hours bike rides, or getting no sleep (although I do think this has it’s affects), or the hour tears that never streamed before at things like on star commercial; or the visions of when you go for a walk, that a car is going to bash your stroller and drag your child along the rode with it never being able to get your child and screaming a scream of death on the side of the rode. I am not talking about those types of things, I am talking about me. Things are just different. First off, all the pregnancy symptoms that people are suppose to get while they are pregnant, I got after pregnancy. Everything sounds loud. I eat like I am eating for seven. And my sinuses have gone mad. I had never had this amount of snot in my nose, which results in a large number of boogers. The thing about boogers though, is that I am a picker. And yes, I pick my boogers. And not with tissue. You cannot get your boogers out of your nose if you use tissue. In fact if you see me using tissue, I am just tricking you and trying to be polite. I actually poke my finger through the tissue. So back to the boogers and the picking. Don’t think of adding breastfeeding into the mix. One might wonder how picking and breastfeeding go together. But if you breastfeed, you have a lot of time to do nothing, but use one hand in a close range of your body and what does this one hand do…picks my nose. I feel like Pavlov’s dogs…it has created this awful habit and for those who have seen my nose I am paying a price. It is swollen, crusty and cracked and it will not go away.

Other things that have changed are my taste buds. I cannot get enough chocolate. I HATED chocolate before. I also hated sandwiches, now I like them. (I know how do you hate sandwiches?) I also use to LOVE Thai food, now I want nothing to do with it. Some might think it is because I threw it up while it labor, but no, I also threw up ice cream and I still LOVE that. Oh yeah, I like white wine now too, weird!

Next, I use to hate to wear jeans, now it is all I wear. Mostly because it hides the panty line. I HATE PANTY LINES, but I have to wear granny panties now…arghh! Thank you hemorrhoids. I have 8 total. 4 inside, 4 out. They are pretty much the worst part of having a child for me. I can handle the pain and the blood of them, but I just can’t handle the panty lines. How is someone whose wardrobe consists of glorified yoga clothes suppose to look cute with panty lines. Well it just can’t, so now I wear jeans. And not because I got "mom-butt", just because I am now a mom.

Finally, I got taller. And the one thing I was sure of, didn’t happen. My feet did NOT stay a size 12. Thank goodness.
