Cocksackies sucks Cocksackies

This week was Luella first time being really sick...it was so sad. She has Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease cause by the Cocksakies Virus. This is basically a virus the causes blisters/ulcers all over your the palms of your hands, the bottoms of your feet, and all over your mouth and throat. The best word to describe this is MISERABLE (for baby and parents). Luella was so sad, she could not eat and was in constant pain. There was not much that we can do but give her Tylonel and Motrin and wait it out. It all started with a 102 fever. The first night she was having crazy dreams due to the fever and sleep talking about papa, dogs and singing. (She sings Itsy Bitsy Spider which sounds like wee, wee, wee and her ABC's which is a repetition of Da, Da, Da). On day two I knew there was more wrong, she wouldn't eat and would not swallow anything...not even her salvia. We are talking, a lot of drool. Now I know kids drool, but fortunately, Luella doesn't so I knew something was wrong. This was so hard because our little girl LOVES her food and to play. In fact she even play eats...there was non of that happening. Right now we are on day five and she seems to be getting a little bit better. She actually nursed through the night and ate breakfast...yay! As a parent you will do anything to have your Little One feel better. This is good for the time being but bad for the long run, I think Lu as a whole new set of trick up her sleeve now to get her parents to do whatever she want. She has also fallen more in love with Yo Gabba Gabba and just Nick Jr. in general. If you ask her "Yo Gabba Gabba" she looks at the TV and smiles. And she LOVES outside. We have to keep the blinds closed or she just points out the window and grunts. She understands so much it is amazing. Feel better baby...I love you!

A Love for Animals

Luella has discovered animals. She fell in love with a sweet dog named Macy in Washington. A week later poor Macy of attacked by another dog and didn't make it...we aren't going to tell Lu she will be very sad. Last errk Luella and I met Grandma Eva at a Park in Laguna. This park was the home to many bunnies. Luella was in Love. She chased bunnies all afternoon, as well as became friends with a golden retriever and also tried to stral someone's subway sandwhich. As of now all animals are "doag" and all food in "num". Unfortuantely Luealla's parents are not at munch of animal lovers and no pets are in the near or far future (sorry Lu!). We can visit the SPA often.

More Vacation

Two things that I realized on vacation...Lu has never been in the sand in California...weird since I pretty much live right next to the beach and that we have no family pictures. Well we took care of both of these in the beautiful PNW! A third things I realized is that I do not blog enough...need to start especially since I can do it from my phone. I want to capture more for Lu so that she has memories even if they seem small at the time.

9 Months Already

I love traveling with a photgrapher, I always have amazing pictures...these were taken by Charla on our WA vacation!

As most parent say..."I can no believe "insert son or daughter" is "insert age" already...and es I will say it. I can Not believe that Luella is already nine months. She seems so old but so little still too! Everyone said this is a fun age and they were right. I could sit and play with her all day. Here are some of the fun things she is doing.
Recently fell in love with dogs...and can say dog!
Loves kids, I mean loves kids...I contribute this to Jon, Jake and Brooklyn!!
Phantom eats...by this I mean she pretends to pick up "food" put is in her mouth and says, yum!
She took her first step on my Birthday...June 17th and is slowly but surely on her way to be a full time walker.
She loves if when you tickle her face with Sock Monkey's hair. It will always make her laugh. Today she tickled herself while cracking herself up!
She thinkg that I am her jungle gym.
She recently discoverged splashing.
When you tell her "No" she tries to give you a kiss...we are in TROUBLE!
She doesn't like to be spoon fed anymore...table food it is!
Everytime me or Aaron eat, she MUST have a bit of our food....yes, she is a little obsessed with eating.
She still wakes up 3 to 4 times a night.
Took her first Airplane trip.
Has 3 teeth with not real signs of others, but I sure they will soon just suddenly appear.
She is currently in the 90th percentile for height, 75% for wieght.
She is starting to dance when music comes on.
She sings "wee wee wee" which I believe to be itsy bitsty spider, and is starting to attempt to do the hand motions for the song.
She can give high fives.
I started baby sign for "all done" but we didn't need it...she just says "done"...what?, I know she is only 9 months. I almost feel like I a making this stuff up, but I am not!
Man do I love this little girl!

Summer Begins at Seabrook

This summer we took our annual trip to Washington to visit our adopted PNW family, the Avery's (aka Charla's Family). I love our time in Washington. This year was a little different traveling with Luella, but she did great. She loved playing out side on Charla's parents acre of gras backyard with all the "cousins". This year we went to a vacation community on the coast of Washington called Seabrook. It was kinda like the Truman show (in a good way) and the Washington coast reminded me of the Northern Coast of California...it was Beautiful. Thanks to Charla's mom I have some pictures to share!!! BTW, I forgot how much fun Connect Four is! i love games!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

For some reason "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" is Luella's favorite song. When she is upset it often calms her. Just recently she has started trying out the hand motions...it is soo cute.
